Meet Dr. Crystal

Public Health Advocate, Best-Selling Author, TEDx Speaker, and CEO

As a first-generation Yale Ph.D. graduate, U.S. Army Officer, entrepreneur, and holistic health advocate, I’ve dedicated my career to empowering others to reach their highest potential—academically, emotionally, and personally.

Growing up in public housing, I experienced adversity firsthand, which ignited my passion for creating accessible pathways to health, resilience, and self-discovery.

Today, I carry out this mission through Seven Sisters & Co., a holistic health and beauty brand rooted in heritage and healing, and the Student Well-Being Project (SWBP), a global mentorship initiative founded to support students and veterans as they navigate transitions, pursue higher education, and cultivate emotional resilience.

Through my work as a health coach, speaker, and researcher, I integrate evidence-based practices with mindset and personal growth strategies to help others embrace their inner strength, redefine their purpose, and lead lives rooted in authenticity and well-being.

A Book That Makes You Feel Seen As A First Generation Student
As I read through Crystal Clear, there were so many moments where I felt seen as a first generation student who navigated coming from a low-income background to higher education and self-fulfillment. Crystal Harrell does a wonderful job of telling her personal story in a way that speaks to others from a similar background and tells a story that I didn't realize I knew I needed until I came across the book. The author does us the favor of distilling all the lessons that she has learned from her personal journey, scientific as well as self-help literature, sprinkling gems of wisdom throughout the book. I love how Crystal has been honest about her successes as well as her failures, which is inspiring and real. i highly recommend this beautiful story of triumph to anyone!

A Page-turner And Inspirational
This is a must-read for those who are needing inspiration to follow their dreams. Harrell's phenomenal introspective work allows the reader to understand the hardships that individuals of her background face and how these dilemmas molded her into the woman that she is today. Her perseverance speaks to the inner child in all of us who want to pursue our goals but are fearful of the outcome. I have learned from this work that failure is inevitable but with that there can come great success if one truly believes in oneself. At the end of the day, we limit ourselves psychologically and should embrace the power of the present moment. This book has given me the fervor to continue on my pursuit of happiness and I am sure that anyone who reads Crystal Clear: A Journey of Self-Discovery: (From Public Housing to Ivy League) will do the same.

If you're looking for inspiration, look no furthe
This was an encouraging title for many reasons. Crystal's brute honesty made this a very compelling title. It's refreshing to read a real life story of success rooted in integrity and not deceit. Crystal is clearly rooted in faith, integrity and discipline. She allowed these values to carry her through life's journey. It's admirable Crystal never succumbed to life's many obstacles...
