Indeed, for the skilled gardener, a blossoming rose is not just a reward, but a symbol of the harmonious union between nature’s potential and human dedication. It represents the culmination of patience, care, and a deep understanding of life’s delicate balance.
Much like the skilled gardener who nurtures a rose to full bloom, we, too, are cultivators in the garden of the human experience, which I see as an energetic expansion.
This process is deeply spiritual, transcending the confines of structured religion. While religion can be a guiding force in understanding and nurturing our spiritual growth, it’s not the only path to experiencing this expansion.
Just as a gardener tends to a rose with patience and understanding, we too can nurture our own growth and expansion, drawing from a myriad of experiences and beliefs to flourish in our unique, individual ways
In his widely acclaimed book, The Untethered Soul, Michael Singer asserts, “Everything is energy, and energy will just expand outward if it is not contained.” This profound statement offered me a deeper understanding of the spiritual essence of life and the roots of human suffering – both the pain we endure from external sources and the agony we inflict upon ourselves.
From this statement, I understood that suffering occurs when our personal and spiritual growth is obstructed or restricted.
Put simply, we are here to expand and use these human experiences to aid that expansion. However, we do not always allow that spiritual or energetic expansion.
We cower. We forget our own power– our own ability to expand naturally.
Look around in nature. Life is expansive, primarily when it is not contained. Imagine if trees mirrored human behavior in their growth process. Life would cease to exist. Imagine if trees were insecure because of a broken branch or yellowing leaf. Or maybe they felt inadequate because they weren’t as tall or green as a neighboring tree. How silly would that be? But we do it to ourselves.
For years, I dimmed my own light out of fear and insecurity. Releasing the blockages within has been the cornerstone of my spiritual journey. It has enabled me to expand my horizons beyond what I ever thought was possible.
Do I consider the human experience to be straightforward? Absolutely not. The universe is complex, and as parts of this universe, so are we. It’s easy to overlook that the same vital force – whether we call it God, Source, Allah, the Universe, or another name – that crafted the entirety of existence has also carved out a role for us within it.
The immense potential of human capability resides within each of us.
While the human experience is complex, it holds a divine essence. This alone inspires me to cherish it as a precious gift from the Creator. It’s a spiritual gift that continually enriches us, provided we embrace it. To fully benefit from this gift, self-awareness is key. This concept resonates deeply with Michael Singer’s quote: “Earth is a place where souls were sent to evolve. We are evolving the soul when we become stronger and more aware of our conscious power.”
